Previous developers had stripped this Georgian property of its period identity, and the clients’ aim was to reinstate it whilst allowing the home to meet and evolve with the needs of a young family. Central to those needs, however, was a greater sense of luxury and sophistication. The ground floor was therefore reimagined as an elegant reception and dedicated library, with seductive red walls, silk drapery, bespoke ceiling moulding, and new marble fire surrounds, all shaped by the client’s love of Art Deco.
The first floor was reconfigured to achieve an expanded master suite with a walk-in dressing room. Here we introduced seagrass wallpaper, sumptuous tonal drapery, panelled wardrobes and striking chandeliers, alongside high-gloss green marble in a newly formed ensuite. Bespoke joinery ensured that all storage requirements could adapt around these changes, while on the second floor a dedicated co-working space was designed to meet the specific professional requirements of the client.
At lower-ground, a small rear extension with Crittall-style glazing has introduced more light into a living-dining-kitchen space, while a redesigned staircase affords greater sense of connection and flow between these more communal spaces that serves the wider family.
